The Inter-American Development Bank underwent a regional study for EMIS to prepare an investment case for IDB grants or loan for Ministries of Education in the region SEMIS.
As a part of the larger initiative, Community Systems Foundation performed Needs Assessment and Gap Analysis in Jamaica and Suriname with the goal of strengthening their current Education Management Information Systems (EMIS).
The studies will lead to the Inter-American Development Bank continuing discussions with the Ministries of Education towards the potential of IDB support for education system strengthening.
The last regional study took place over a decade ago. Results of that assessment can be found in the IDB publication titled, “Educational Management Information Systems (EMIS) in Latin America and the Caribbean: Lessons and Challenges.”
