Indicator monitoring for project evaluation
IFAD Sudan
In Sudan, the U.N. International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) launched di Monitoring to better track progress on five national projects.
IFAD is currently funding the implementation of five projects in Sudan, each with their own M&E officers, project log-frames, and key performance indicators linked to project outcomes. In 2016, the organization implemented di Monitoring in the country in preparation for a key milestone: the mid-term review of its 2013-2018 Results- Based Country Strategic Opportunities Program (RB-COSOP).
The mid-term review process requires a thorough assessment of achievements on each project thus far, to prepare a robust evaluation and report. By loading key performance indicators for the five projects as layered indicator frameworks into the di Monitoring platform, and setting baseline and target values for indicators over the duration of each project, M&E officers and project teams have been able to assess progress over time to prepare for the review of the five projects.
CSF provided an in-country workshop, training project teams on how to streamline their M&E matrix and build their projects on the di Monitoring system.
