Training workshops on FGM Monitoring in WCARO

To help stakeholders use the di Monitoring tool to effectively track progress towards eradicating FGM, CSF organized and conducted a series of trainings.
Across the WCARO region and elsewhere, national governments and UN partners are using data to monitor progress on FGM. UNFPA hosted CSF for two capacity-building workshops in Dakar to train teams from UNFPA-UNICEF, government agencies, and implementing partners from five countries: Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea, Mali, and Burkina Faso. A sixth training was conducted for the Djibouti team in their home country.
Country focal points were trained on how to use the di Monitoring platform, a web-based tool enabling the tracking of development plans. Teams populated the results framework with their key indicators and uploaded relevant documents. The trainings provided an opportunity for countries to learn from each other and discuss complementary national contexts, as well as challenges in collecting data.
