National statistics databases for the Caribbean region
To better disseminate national statistics, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is implementing DevInfo in five Caribbean countries.
The CARICOM Secretariat’s Regional Statistics Programme has been collaborating with both UNICEF and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) on data dissemination in the Caribbean region, and worked with CSF to implement the DevInfo platform in Montserrat, Grenada, Anguilla, St. Lucia, and Barbados. In 2016, CSF hosted workshops in these five countries to develop comprehensive implementation plans, as well as to sensitive policy and decision makers and train line ministries. CSF hosted two additional workshops to generate a DevInfo database, and to train relevant focal points on database management at both the Ministry of Statistics and line ministries.

UN Women Grants Management
Fund for Gender Equality / UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women
UN Women’s Grants Management System (GMS) is an interactive online tool that provides easy access to information on two global grant-making mechanisms: the UN Women Fund for Gender Equality, and the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women.
The Fund for Gender Equality is UN Women’s grant-making mechanism, dedicated exclusively to the economic and political empowerment of women; since launching in 2009 it has delivered US$56.5 million to 96 programmes in 72 countries. The UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, an inter-agency mechanism managed by UN Women on behalf of the UN system, supports innovative and pioneering programmes aimed at preventing and responding to all forms of violence against women and girls. Since 1996, it has awarded US$ 116 million in grants to 426 initiatives in 136 countries UN Women’s GMS tracks grants through the entire management cycle, from administration and producing a Call for Proposals to results-based monitoring and analytics, and helps users through this process with role-based dashboards and personalized to-do calendars. Grant reporting data can be converted to easy-to-understand visualizations, or downloaded as shareable reports.
2016 World Vision - USAID - AusAID
Logistics software for tracking and tracing textbook deliveries
Parents and teachers can interact with OpenEMIS Logistics to track textbook deliveries to schools through SMS and IVR messaging.
In some countries, books donated to schools often go missing due to poor delivery transportation infrastructure and corruption. All Children Reading (a consortium of World Vision, USAID and Australia Aid) chose CSF as a finalist in a competition to develop a system that tracks textbook deliveries. Research says that when communities – including parents and teachers – have access to information, the likelihood of successful textbook deliveries increases as every actor involved in the distribution chain is held accountable. Users can subscribe through SMS on any mobile phone, to receive an alert when a shipment is on its way. The system can be queried for information on who is making the delivery, what the shipment contains, when it is expected to arrive, and where the shipment is currently located. Shipments can be managed on the web platform by an administrator from the Ministry of Education of by a procurement team. The system can be configured to track any type of commodity, from stationary to sports equipment.
2016 UNICEF El Salvador
Adolescent and Youth Dashboard
Monitoring the condition of adolescents and youth for UNICEF
UNICEF El Salvador’s dashboard on Adolescent and Youth Statistics makes information on key sectoral indicators easily accessible.
The interactive dashboard, publicly available online, has an underlying DevInfo database. It provides information on the national and sub-national levels on a variety of sectors: health, protection, poverty, education, and basic demographic information. The dashboard provides timely information on around 100 indicators, and disaggregates information by sex, rural/urban location, and by level of wealth. Information is displayed in interactive graphs and charts. The website’s administrative panel allows the UNICEF country team to update visual elements of the dashboard and to rearrange indicators, where necessary. The Adolescent and Youth Statistics dashboard is available in Spanish.

EthioInfo Web Dissemination
An interactive platform for public census data dissemination
The EthioInfo online database provides quick and legible access to data from different sectors for effective policy-making.
EthioInfo was developed as an accessible, one-stop platform with tools to facilitate data retrieval, interpretation and dissemination. The database, populated with information collected by the country’s Central Statistical Agency, covers demographics, the economy, education, citizen empowerment, the environment, and health and nutrition. Its querying tools make it easy to retrieve specific data, which can then be transformed into tables, graphics and maps for inclusion in reports and presentations.
