In Sierra Leone, the Government—led by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MOPED)—set out to address a common challenge: fragmented, Excel-based reporting systems that limited visibility, coordination, and timely decision-making across government.

Working with Community Systems Foundation (CSF), MOPED implemented the National Development Tracker (SLNDT), a government-led platform that brings together over 600 national development indicators across ministries into a single, integrated system. Today, the platform is used by senior leadership to monitor progress, strengthen accountability, and guide decision-making.

More than a technology solution, SLNDT represents a shift from reporting to performance—embedding data use within government processes and building sustainable national capacity. The approach has proven scalable and is now being applied in multiple countries.
