Monitoring drought relief in Eastern Africa The 3W Map Tool, a new addition to DFA Monitoring, is designed to give IGAD the ability to quickly visualize the risk of drought across the region.
The 3W Map portal allows member states within East Africa to store and visualize information on investment projects targeting areas of drought, quickly displaying, the who, what, and where of projects. Integrated within the DI Monitoring platform, the map tool provides accessible visualization of allocated project funding. This gives member states the ability to quickly identify the effectiveness of projects and how they are impacting outcomes through the IGAD Drought Resilience and Sustainability Initiative (IDDRSI). The portal is designed with ease in mind, meaning that the IGAD Platform Coordination Unit (PCU) managing the site can easily configure it to make the information comprehensible and effective. Along with IGAD, the project will be supported by UNOCHA and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ).
