Capacity Building and Bottleneck Analysis Workshops for National Health Planning In late 2019, a National Data Review Committee was established in Bangladesh to support data transparency and validity of data sources. The committee is multi-organizational and includes the Ministry of Health, Family and Wellness, the Planning, Monitoring and Reporting Department (PMR), UNICEF, the National Institute of Population Research and Training (NIPORT), and the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), among others.
The first Workshop facilitated initial data entry and identification of relevant local sources aligned with EQUIST indicators. The second workshop focused on capacity building and provided an overview of EQUIST’s 7 step approach to health system strengthening (HSS). A Bottleneck Analysis report was prepared from user inputs during the General Analyst Capacity Building and Bottleneck Analysis workshop. Participants from the data committee and other organizations came together to conduct a the analysis. Topics considered were MNCH, immunization, maternal health and nutrition.
