Funding the push for gender equality UN Women’s Grants Management System (GMS) is an interactive online tool that provides easy access to information on two global grant-making mechanisms: the UN Women Fund for Gender Equality, and the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women.
The Fund for Gender Equality is UN Women’s grant-making mechanism, dedicated exclusively to the economic and political empowerment of women; since launching in 2009 it has delivered US$56.5 million to 96 programmes in 72 countries. The UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, an inter- agency mechanism managed by UN Women on behalf of the UN system, supports innovative and pioneering programmes aimed at preventing and responding to all forms of violence against women and girls. Since 1996, it has awarded US$ 116 million in grants to 426 initiatives in 136 countries. UN Women’s GMS tracks grants through the entire management cycle, from administration and producing a Call for Proposals to results-based monitoring and analytics, and helps users through this process with role-based dashboards and personalized to-do calendars. Grant reporting data can be converted to easy-to- understand visualizations, or downloaded as shareable reports.
