Community Systems Foundation (CSF) is assisting the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Egypt in developing an online monitoring, visualizing and data storage system. This allows users to track the national progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strengthening children's rights.
The Data System Strengthening project is in collaboration with UNICEF and allows for greater transparency and understanding of Egypt’s developmental progress. In partnership with UNICEF, Community Systems Foundation will provide assistance to CAPMAS in configuring and rolling out DFA Tools, such as DFA Dashboard Builder and DFA Visualizer. This project builds off of existing work with the government of Egypt to create an SDG Monitoring mobile application in 2017. This application supports decision-makers in visualizing data related to the SDGs through maps, charts and graphs. The partnership with CAPMAS led to the implementation of several Data For All (DFA) tools, all of which will be housed in a public facing data portal. The portal will enable individuals to access all the data products that are being developed under this project. In addition, CSF has developed a mobile application that will be linked with the data portal to showcase progress to Egyptian citizens. To ensure sustainability of the initiative, CSF provided CAPMAS with capacity building support to better understand each tool and their intended use in the administration and management of the data portal.
