Empowering Education: A Government-Led Approach with OpenEMIS


In late October 2022, Community Systems Foundation’s OpenEMIS Project Officer, Stephanie Betancourt traveled to Aruba to provide direct training to a team from the Department of Education Aruba (DEA). The OpenEMIS trainings aimed to strengthen the department’s ability to administer and use OpenEMIS.
After finishing my first year of college, still trying to figure out my passion, I received a Posey Global Leadership Fellowship to volunteer at a hospital in Makeni, Sierra Leone.

As a third year student at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, Menna El Shiati first learned that nearly 8 out every 10 women in her country undergo female genital mutilation (FGM).
On 10 November 2017, the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs met at Fordham University to hold the Humanitarian Blockchain Summit 2017.

Ministry of Education in joint efforts with Community Systems Foundation (CSF), a non-profit organization that works toward sustainable development of information technology in science and educational activities, has launched Maldives Educational Management Information Systems (MEMIS).
MEMIS was launched by state minister at the Education Ministry, Ahmed Shafeeu, during a ceremony held at Hotel Jen.
